Does Birth Order Affect Language Acquisition?
This short article looks at differences in language development between siblings. The research cited here showed that while language ability does not differ between first born children and their siblings there are some differences in early language development that may be related to the language environment children experience: for example while first born children are more advanced in their vocabulary second born children develop stronger conversational skills earlier.
